Parent & Guardian Involvement

We believe in a strong partnership between parents and staff. Hampton Parks and Recreation has the following avenues of parental involvement to encourage parental input in decision making and planning and to facilitate communication among parents.

Parents may request a conference with the program Leader any time to discuss their own child or the program in general. Our main focus is the well being of our participants. Conferences should be scheduled at a time and place that is convenient, appropriate and does not interfere with the overall program.

Parents are expected to communicate opinions to program staff in a cordial, private environment. Under no circumstance will verbal abuse towards the program staff, other parents, or the children be tolerated.

Under no circumstances will the children be exposed to confrontational situations and/or a parent arriving under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance. If these events should occur, the proper authorities will be notified, prior to the child being dismissed. It’s the goal of the School Age Program that each child arrives home safely.
