In January of 2004, the City of Hampton revised and updated the Downtown Hampton Master Plan. Part of this plan focuses on strengthening the
in-town neighborhoods of Pasture Point and Olde Hampton by creating
Design Guidelines for Hampton Neighborhoods. The guidelines are written for
renovation projects and new construction. They are easy to use, maintain the integrity of the existing neighborhood fabric, and build on the historical
significance of our older neighborhoods.
Renovating existing older homes can be challenging. The
Design Guidelines for Hampton Neighborhoods serves as a guide to help
homeowners by providing information about both neighborhoods and existing or predominant Architectural styles. In addition, the guidelines will
help architects and builders to design and build in new construction in ways that are consistent with the architecture of Pasture Point and Olde
Hampton.
