During a debate on a Hampton Neighborhood, Youth give valuable input and demonstrate to city officials that they too have a voice
1997- Impressed by the responses from the youth, the Director of Planning hires two high school students to serve as youth planners
Eventually the first ever Youth Component to the City’s Community Plan is developed
City Council Provides the Commission with a $40,000 budget to distribute grants around the city
